Reverse Osmosis System Working Principle

Reverse osmosis is a membrane separation technology driven by pressure using a selective permeable (semi-permeable) membrane. When system pressure exceeds the osmotic pressure of the influent solution, water molecules continuously permeate through the membrane, flowing into the central tube through the permeate flow channel. Impurities such as ions, organics, bacteria, and viruses are trapped at the membrane inlet side and discharged through the concentrated water outlet, achieving effective separation and purification.

The reverse osmosis equipment processes raw water through multiple filtration stages including fine filters, quartz sand filters, and compressed activated carbon filters. After pressurization via pump, water passes through a 1/10,000 μm RO membrane that converts high-concentration water into low-concentration water while effectively removing industrial pollutants, heavy metals, bacteria, viruses, and other impurities to produce pure drinking water.
