EDI Module For Ultra Pure Water Purification System

I.Overview

EDI is a technology that combines ion exchange resins with ion exchange membranes and uses a direct current electric field to continuously remove ionic impurities from water. Water flows through a chamber containing anion/cation exchange resins. The resins adsorb ions (such as

Na⁺ and Cl⁻) in the water. The electric field drives these ions through the selective ion exchange membranes and into the concentrate stream. This continuously polishes the main water stream, improving its purity. Furthermore, because the electric field continuously regenerates the resins, chemical regeneration is unnecessary.

II.EDI Features:

Continuous water production: No downtime required for regeneration like traditional mixed-bed systems.

No chemical regeneration required: No acid or alkali regeneration required, environmentally friendly and safe.

Stable water quality: The outlet water resistivity can reach 15–18 MΩ·cm (close to theoretical ultrapure water).

Low operating costs: Relatively low power consumption and no acid or alkali reagents required.
