I.Overview

The application of ultra-pure water in blank controls is of critical importance, particularly in precision analytical experiments that are highly sensitive to contaminants. It serves as a “zero background” or “background” reference, forming the cornerstone and gold standard of blank control experiments.

By providing a reference with a background level close to zero, it helps experimenters: confirm (whether the “water” used in the experiment is pure and free of interference), diagnose (whether contamination has been introduced by experimental containers, consumables, operational processes, or the instrument itself), calibrate (instrument baseline, assess system noise), and ensure (the accuracy and reliability of final sample measurement results, particularly for trace, ultra-trace analysis, and highly sensitive biological experiments).
